International Forum on Globalization Opens in Tbilisi

Through the initiative of the Catholicos-Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Ilia II, and under the patronage of President Saakashvili, a two-day international forum on Globalization and Dialogue of Civilizations was opened in Tbilisi on September 30.


The conference, which was opened by President Saakashvili,  includes various ethnic groups and religions. 


?I am very proud, that there is no ethnic and religious confrontation in Georgia,? Mikheil Saakashvili said.


Recently the U.S. Department of State issued an annual report on International Religious Freedom, in which it was said that Georgia has achieved a ?significant improvement? in the protection and promotion of religious freedom.
