CanArgo Energy Corporation donated fuel worth 100,000 Lari (around USD 55,000) to the Georgian Ministry of Defense (MoD) on October 7. Georgian Defense Minister Giorgi Baramidze held talks with David Robson, the Chief Executive Officer of CanArgo following this donation.
?The initiative comes from the company itself and we are really grateful for this,? Giorgi Baramidze told reporters. The Defense Ministry uses about 6.3 million Lari worth of fuel per year, on average.
CanArgo, which is an oil and gas exploration and production company that has oil and gas operations in Georgia and Central Asia, recently experience problems related to a blow-out at a well in Ninotsminda, Georgia. The company was able to cap the well on September 13, three days after the incident. The Georgian Environment Ministry reports that assessment of the damage has not been completed yet.
