Latvia Pledges to Support Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic Aspirations
Visiting Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and his Latvian counterpart Vaira Vike-Freiberga signed a joint declaration on the mutual support and co-operation in the Latvian capital Riga on October 13.
“Latvia confirms its readiness to support and promote the aspirations of Georgia towards developing a closer partnership with the European and Euro-Atlantic structures, namely the partnership between Georgia and the European Union, and Georgian aspirations to build strong links with NATO,” the joint declaration reads.
The two Presidents have also signed a Convention over the non-application of double taxation.
