Saakashvili Plans State of the Nation Address on Feb.28
President Saakashvili will deliver annual state of the nation address, his eighth one, to the Parliament on February 28, it was announced on Monday.
After his address, planned to start at 8pm local time on Tuesday, Saakashvili will listen to rebuttal speeches from opposition lawmakers, as well as remarks from ruling party MPs during debates, which are expected to last for several hours like some of the similar events in previous years.
It will be Saakashvili’s last state of the nation address before the October parliamentary elections and his second-to-last before his final term in office expires in late 2013.
