Bulgarian PM Visits Georgia

Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, started on Sunday a two-day visit to Georgia after which he will travel to Armenia.

Georgian PM, Nika Gilauri, said after talks with his Bulgarian counterpart in Tbilisi on April 1, that Georgia and Bulgaria “have much in common and one of the key issues among them is relations with Russia.”

“[Bulgaria] took two important decisions recently – one is to suspend construction of the Russian-financed Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline and another one to freeze construction of the Russian-financed nuclear plant. So from the point of view of geopolitical decisions we have much in common,” PM Gilauri said.

“We plan many very useful joint projects; one of them is transit of liquefied natural gas via Georgia into Bulgaria, as well as export of electricity to Bulgaria via Turkey,” PM Gilauri said.

Also on April 1, the Bulgarian PM met with President Saakashvili.
