Georgian President Meets British PM in Bratislava

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili met British PM David Cameron in Slovakia on June 19 on the sideline of the Bratislava Global Security Forum.

“Close bilateral relations has been discussed. President Margvelashvili thanked David Cameron for supporting Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the Georgian president’s office said, adding that the British PM expressed his condolences over the loss of life in the devastating flood in Tbilisi.

It said that the Georgian President and the British PM also discussed “security issues” in the region.

In Bratislava the Georgian President also plans bilateral meetings with his Slovak and Croatian counterparts, as well as with Poland’s outgoing president Bronislaw Komorowski, PM of Montenegro and U.S. senator John McCain.

Margvelashvili, who is accompanied by executives from about thirty companies, opened the Georgian-Slovak business forum in Bratislava on June 19.
