President’s State of the Nation Address Set for February 3
President Giorgi Margvelashvili will deliver his annual state of the nation address in the Parliament on February 3.
It will be President Margvelashvili’s third annual address in the Parliament.
Unlike his predecessor Irakli Garibashvili, who snubbed President Margvelashvili’s both previous annual addresses in the Parliament, PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili will be attending the event on February 3.
“Political speculation over this issue [whether the PM will be attending or not] should be over,” PM’s office said on February 1.
“PM [Kvirikashvili] has stated for several times already that it is necessary to move the Georgian political discourse into constructive mode, where debates and discussions will be held on substantial issues not on formalities,” PM’s office said.
