CEC: Voter Turnout 12.71% by Noon
315,009 voters, accounting for 12.71% of total number of voters, turned out at polling stations as of noon in the runoff elections, according to the Central Election Commission.
The figure is lower compared to turnout of 19.81%, which was by the midday in the October 8 parliamentary elections.
The highest voter turnout by the noon was still reported in the election district No.37 covering Mtskheta, where 22.7% of voters cast ballot by noon.
The lowest voter turnout by noon was in Gori’s election district No.41 – 7.2%.
Runoff elections are being held in Tbilisi’s 18 districts and 32 single-mandate constituencies in regions, where mostly GDDG and UNM candidates compete with each other. To enter the parliament through a runoff vote, a candidate must win a simple majority of votes.
