CEC: Voter Turnout 30.99 % by 5pm
767,907 voters, accounting for 30.99% of total number of voters, turned out at polling stations as of 5pm in the runoff elections, according to the Central Election Commission.
The highest voter turnout by 5pm was again reported in Mtskheta district, where 51.6% of voters cast ballot.
The lowest voter turnout by 5pm was in Gori’s election district No.41 – 17.7%.
Runoff elections are being held in Tbilisi’s 18 districts and 32 single-mandate constituencies in regions, where mostly GDDG and UNM candidates compete with each other. To enter the parliament through a runoff vote, a candidate must win a simple majority of votes.
According to CEC, elections administrations received 87 complaints mostly involving “minor procedural violations,” among them voter marking rules.
Georgian Young Lawyers Association, which is monitoring the process of voting, said that the election process is ongoing in a calm atmosphere.
