Former GD MP Becomes PM’s Adviser for Foreign Relations
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili appointed on December 7 former MP Tedo Japaridze as his adviser for foreign relations.
Japaridze, who joined Georgian Dream in January 2012, was the chairman of the committee for foreign relations in the previous Parliament. He was Georgia’s ambassador to the United States for over seven years, before becoming the secretary of the National Security Council in ex-President Eduard Shevardnadze’s administration in March 2002. Following the 2003 Rose Revolution, he held the position of Georgian Foreign Minister in Mikheil Saakashvili’s administration for four months till March 2004.
