Thousands of Protesters Demand Shevardnadze’s Resignation
Protesters in front of the Parliament building demand President Shevardnadze’s resignation. Approximately 10.000 people are gathered at the Restively central avenue in Tbilisi. Protesters refuse to leave the avenue.
MP and ex-Justice Minister Mikheil Saakashvili also demands President’s resignation. Ex-Chairman of Parliament Zurab Zhvania stated today that he categorically opposes President Shevardnadze’s resignation. “This will lead to the civil war”, Zhvania stated.
