Russia Continues Supposing Bin-Laden’s Possible Presence in Pankisi

(Tbilisi, February 19, Civil Georgia) – In the wake of Russian Foreign Minister’s statement about Bin-Laden’s possible presence in Pankisi gorge, Russian Defense Minister announced on February 18 that “there is no fact confirming that Bin-Laden is not in Pankisi – his presence there is quite possible.”

Georgian State Security Minister Valeri Khaburdzania in the interview to the Georgian state TV channel called such a statement “unserious”.

Earlier on February 18 President Shevardnadze stated that he was astonished with the Russian Foreign Minister’s statement concerning Bin-Laden’s possible presence in Pankisi.
