MP Talks on Former Internal Affairs Minister’s Possible Role in Sajaia’s Death
(Tbilisi, February 26, Civil Georgia) – “Kakha Targamadze is indeed eager to take the post of secretary of the National Security of Georgia and his role in what has happened [suicide of Nugzar Sajaia] is not small”, head of the human rights defense Parliamentary Committee Elene Tevdoradze stated while commenting about possible successors of Nugzar Sajaia.
Kakha Targamadze left the post of the internal affairs minister on November 1, 2001, after the mass protest arranged in front of the Parliament building demanded his dismissal. Targamadze is often associated with corruption and the establishment of criminal enclave in Pankisi gorge.
