Officials Say GTEP to Improve Georgia’s Security
(Tbilisi, May 27, Civil Georgia) – Ceremony dedicated to the official launch of the Georgia Train-and-Equip program [GTEP] was held in National Military Academy on May 27.
Georgian State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze, Defense Minister Davit Tevzadze, Foreign Affairs Minister Irakli Menagarishvili, US ambassador to Georgia Richard Miles, US military trainers’ team leader Lt. Col. Robert E. Waltemeyer and other officials attended ceremony.
In their speeches all the officials emphasized that the GTEP aims at improving Georgia’s security and defense needs.
In the frames of the GTEP anti-terrorist units will be trained.
