Georgia Promises British Diplomat to Investigate Shaw’s Abduction

(Tbilisi, June 24, Civil Georgia) – “The prompt investigation of Peter Shaw’s abduction case is our top priority at the moment,” Georgian State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze stated at the meeting with the British ambassador to Georgia on June 24.

“I want to assure you that Georgian law enforces’ are doing their best to investigate the case,” Jorbenadze said.

Two representatives of the Scotland Yard will be involved in the investigation process. They already met with Georgian Interior Minister Koba Narchemashvili today.

The police have no exact information where Shaw might be at the moment. “We do not exclude that kidnappers could hide Shaw in Pankisi gorge,” Paata Gomelauri, Interior Ministry’s Spokesman told the Civil Georgia.

Co-Director of the Agro-Business Bank British citizen Peter Shaw was kidnapped on June 18 in Georgian capital Tbilisi.
