Chief Prosecutor Says Shaw’s Case will Be Investigated Soon
(Tbilisi, July 10, Civil Georgia) – Georgian General Prosecutor Nugzar Gabrichidze told the reporters after the government’s meeting on July 10, that the investigation concerning the abduction case of British citizen Peter Shaw is almost completed.
He said that the law enforcers know the group of criminals that could kidnap Peter Shaw. The Interior Ministry also reports that the case will be opened soon.
Georgian State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze stated at the government’s meeting today that the “abduction of Shaw damaged Georgia’s international image.” President Shevardnadze said that the kidnapping of the foreign citizen could hinder implementation of the European Union’s assistance programs for Georgia.
