Forbes Estimates Ivanishvili’s Wealth at USD 6.4 bln

Bidzina Ivanishvili, leader of an opposition Georgian Dream coalition, is ranked at 153 position in Forbes magazine’s annual list of the world’s billionaires with an estimated worth of USD 6.4 billion.

Ivanishvili’s wealth in last year’s similar list was estimated at USD 5.5 billion.

Ivanishvili, who is now French citizen awaiting a response from the authorities on his request to regain his Georgian citizenship, is the sixth richest person in France, according to Forbes, which also runs a lengthy article about the billionaire-turned-politician.

This year’s list in the magazine’s 25th annual issue on the world’s wealthiest people, released on March 7, includes a record 1,226 entrants.
