The State Security Service, Georgia’s domestic counterintelligence agency, appointed five new regional department heads on January 15.
The appointments were made in Kakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Mtskheta Mtianeti and Shida Kartli regions, all in the east of the country.
The State Security Service said the appointments are part of a staff reshuffle process announced earlier by the agency chief, Vakhtang Gomelauri.
The Security Service gave no further details on the appointments.
