Georgian MP to Lead OSCE Observers in Ukraine Presidential Runoffs
A member of the Georgian Parliament and the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Giorgi Tsereteli will be the OSCE Special Coordinator and leader of the short-term OSCE observation mission for Ukraine’s presidential election this Sunday.
Tsereteli spoke of importance of the upcoming runoff being of the “highest standards.” “These elections are being held in extraordinary situation caused by Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea and a hot conflict in the country’s eastern part,” he said.
Runoff between the two top contenders – acting president Petro Poroshenko and actor Volodymyr Zelenskiy – will be held in Ukraine on April 21.
