The Central Election Commission (CEC) released on May 27 the final vote tally of the first round of the MP by-elections in Mtatsminda constituency of Tbilisi.
According to the final vote tally, 15,022 out of 43,868 registered voters participated in the elections (34.2%). The election administration annulled 297 ballot papers.
20 candidates competed in the MP by-elections in Mtatsminda constituency of Tbilisi. Below are the results of the first round:
- Nita Sikharulidze – Christian Democratic Movement – 0.12% (17 votes);
- Giorgi Andriadze – Free Georgia –.0.79% (117 votes);
- Shalva Shavgulidze – European Georgia-Free Democrats – 36.84% (5,422 votes);
- Giorgi Liluashvili – Sakartvelo – 0.12% (18 votes);
- Giorgi Shalikashvili – Movement for Free Georgia – 0.07% (11 votes);
- Tebea Tengiani – New Christian Democrats – 0.03% (5 votes);
- Mamuka Tuskadze – Movement for Social Justice – 0.09% (13 votes);
- Valisa Ghvinjilia – Political Platform New Georgia – 0.04% (6 votes);
- Mikheil Saluashvili – Union Recovery Justice Voice of People: The Lord Our Righteousness – 0.10% (15 votes);
- Irma Razmadze – Tavisupleba – Zviad Gamsakhurdias Gza – 0.13 (19 votes);
- Jemal Nadareishvili – Political Movement of Armed Veterans and Patriots of Georgia – 0.12% (17 votes);
- Germane Sabo – Girchi – 4.76% (701 votes);
- Nodar Inaneishvili – National-Democratic Party (NDP) – 0.06% (6 votes);
- Vladimer Kakhadze – Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia – 41.01% (6,036 votes);
- Levan Ioseliani – Independent – 6.55% (964 voters);
- Koba Davitashvili – Independent – 2.91% (428 votes);
- Sophio Khorguani – Independent – 2.64% (388 votes);
- Grigol Gegelia – Independent – 3.14% (462 votes);
- Ioseb Koberidze – Independent 0.18% (26 votes);
- Tamar Alpaidze – Initiative Group – 0.31% (45 votes).
According to the Central Election Commission, two main contenders – Vladimer Kakhadze and Shalva Shavgulidze will face each other in the second round of elections on May 9. The parliamentary seat in Mtatsminda became vacant after Salome Zurabishvili, a majoritarian lawmaker, was elected as the President of Georgia.
