‘Liberali’ Journalists, Editors Quit
A group of 11 journalists and editors of the Liberali magazine released a statement on June 23, announcing about their plans to quit the magazine.
The group noted that Shorena Shaverdashvili, owner of the magazine, did not like Liberali’s policy and that she warned employees about planned staff changes, as well as appointment of a new manager and establishment of a new editorial vision.
“Since we are aware about the differences between the company owner as well as our editorial and managerial visions, we believe that considering the changes offered/announced by her, we cannot stay in Liberali,” the group notes.
Journalists and editors thanked international and local donors, as well as readers for trust and dedication, saying “we will again meet in the media, on a new platform.”
