PM Gakharia Attends World Economic Forum in Davos
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia is visiting Davos, Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum’s 50th annual meeting on January 21-24.
On the sidelines of the forum today, Georgian Prime Minister held meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart, Boyko Borissov and spoke of “fruitful” economic ties between the two countries. The two PMs also discussed Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, grave humanitarian situation on its Russia-occupied regions and the country’s peace policy.
Giorgi Gakharia thanked his Bulgarian counterpart for supporting Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, the Georgian PM’s press service reported.

Earlier today, Gakharia also met with Jürgen Rigterink, the First Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Noting that 2019 has been the best year in Georgia for EBRD, Rigterink said Georgia’s cooperation with the Bank is “obviously very good” and that EBRD is very pleased with the country’s continued reforms.
According to PM’s press office, Giorgi Gakharia will hold a number of meetings on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, among others with representatives of Philips Lighting, Siemens Energy, Camille Bloch, Coca-Cola, and OneWeb.
PM Gakharia is expected to join a panel discussion on “New Ambitions for Europe” as well as to address participants of “Uniting Europe” event.
In Davos, Giorgi Gakharia is accompanied by Finance Minister Ivane Machavariani, as well as PM’s advisors for international affairs and economic issues, Irakli Chikovani and Beka Liluashvili, respectively.
