According to the Georgian health authorities, a total of 149,191 persons have received at least a single dose of coronavirus vaccine since Georgia initiated vaccine rollout on March 15. In the meantime, 33,718 persons have been fully vaccinated.

Georgian authorities have confirmed 954 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the tally of the total confirmed cases to 346,150. In the meantime, 896 patients have recovered, taking the number of overall recoveries to 329,516. The number of COVID-related fatalities rose by 30 to 4,834. The number of active cases stands at 11,774.
The test positivity rate for today stands at 3.12%, the 14-day rate is at 3.23%, while the rate for the past week stands at 2.8%.

Moscow-backed authorities in Abkhazia reported 29 new cases of COVID-19, taking the tally of the total confirmed cases in the region to 15,360. 44 more patients have recovered, bringing the number of recoveries to 14,737. The number of COVID-related fatalities rose by 1 to 234. The number of active cases to date stands at 389.

Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze has tested positive for the coronavirus. According to the Ministry of Health, she is feeling well and self-isolating, while continuing to work remotely.
11:40 GMT+4 – Georgia Confirms South African COVID Variant
NCDC Head Amiran Gamkrelidze announced today that Georgia has confirmed one case of the South African coronavirus variant (Lineage B.1.351). The case was confirmed in a Georgian citizen who had traveled to Dubai. According to Gamkrelidze, the patient was isolated in a timely manner and has fully recovered.
11:20 GMT+4 – Gov’t Slightly Shortens Nationwide Curfew
The nationwide night-time coronavirus curfew, previously enforced from 23:00 to 05:00, will now instead conclude at 04:00, as per the decision of the Government’s Inter-Agency Council. The authorities cited aiding farmers in upping product sales as the reason behind the decision. The curfew has been in effect since November 28.

Georgian authorities have confirmed 1,233 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the tally of the total confirmed cases to 345,196. In the meantime, 1,002 patients have recovered, taking the number of overall recoveries to 328,620. The number of COVID-related fatalities rose by 31 to 4,804. The number of active cases stands at 11,746.
The test positivity rate for today stands at 3.74%, the 14-day rate is at 3.3%, while the rate for the past week stands at 2.71%.
