Weekly COVID Update: July 18-24

During July 18-24, Georgian authorities reported 10,253 new cases of COVID-19, as well as 7,508 recoveries, and 5 fatalities.

Out of the 10,253 cases, 5,904 were reported in Tbilisi, followed by Adjara β€” 1,317, Imereti β€” 1,001, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti β€” 494, Kvemo Kartli β€” 349, Kakheti β€” 344, Guria β€” 275, Shida Kartli β€” 271, Mtskheta-Mtianeti β€” 145, Samtskhe-Javakheti β€” 97, and Racha Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti β€” 56.

According to the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, the positivity rate for the 7-day testing period was 13.81%.

As of July 24, Georgia (excluding the occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali/South Ossetia) had reported 1,685,518 cases of COVID-19 in total, among them 1,658,189 recoveries and 16,859 deaths.
