Weekly COVID Update: July 24-31

During July 24-31, Georgian authorities reported 11,802 new cases of COVID-19, as well as 10,233 recoveries, and 10 fatalities.

Out of the 11,802 cases, 6,005 were reported in Tbilisi, followed by Imereti β€” 1,458, Adjara β€” 1,382, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti β€” 737, Guria β€” 579, Shida Kartli β€” 423, Kakheti β€” 388, Kvemo Kartli β€” 334, Mtskheta-Mtianeti β€” 218, Samtskhe-Javakheti β€” 139, and Racha Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti β€” 139.

According to the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, the positivity rate for the 7-day testing period was 15.47%.

As of July 24, Georgia (excluding the occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali/South Ossetia) had reported 1,697,320 cases of COVID-19 in total, among them 1,668,422 recoveries and 16,869 deaths.
