Relatives of Abducted Spaniards Plan to Make a Deal With the Kidnappers

Ambassador and Consul General of Spain in Moscow met Georgia’s Interior Minister Internal Kakha Targamadze and Deputy Minister Zurab Chkhaidze today. Behind closed doors they discussed the case of kidnapping of two Spanish businessmen last November. Details of the conversation are unknown.

After the meeting Spanish diplomats stated that wives of abducted Jose Antonio Treminio and Francisco Rodriguez plan to visit Georgia and contact the kidnappers, as they no longer in Georgian police’s ability to free their husbands.

Three days ago kidnappers demanded $250,000 ransom to release the hostages. Abducted Treminio and Rodriguez are detained in Pankisi gorge near Georgian-Russian border.
