Group of Georgian and Abkhazian NGOs Condemn Current Situation in Abkhazia
Group of Georgian non-governmental organizations condemned military venture in Abkhazia in their declaration. The declaration says: The society still did not receive answer on the question who did escalate the crisis and how such number of armed people appeared to be in Kodori valley. We demand answers on these questions from the government. Authors of the declaration call upon conflicting parties to resume peace talks.
22 representatives of 7 non-governmental organizations have already signed the declaration.
Part of Abkhazian NGOs has responded to the declaration. Their statement says: Georgian war party, represented by Kakha Targamadze, Minister of Internal Affairs, made use of existing difficult international situation to launch new war campaign in Abkhazia.
