Spanish Diplomat Met Interior Minister on Abduction Case

(Tbilisi. November 23. Civil Georgia) – First secretary of Spanish embassy in Russia Jose Ricardo Gomes spoke to newly elected Interior Affairs Minister Koba Narchemashvili today concerning two Spanish businessmen kidnapped last year.

Koba Narchemashvili stated that to release the Spanish citizens would be one of his prime aims.

Spanish diplomats regularly negotiate with Georgian officials to soon have two Spaniards’ released, in which Georgian law enforcers have not succeeded so far.

Antonio Trenelio and Hose Rodriguez kidnapped in November 2000 are detained in mountainous region of Pankisi gorge near the Georgian-Russian border, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia states.
