12 Azeris Charged with Undergoing Guerrilla Training in Pankisi, Georgia
(Tbilisi. November 24. Civil Georgia) – 12 Azerbaijani citizens are under trial in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan. They are accused of undergoing guerrilla training in Pankisi gorge, Georgia, aiming to fight in Chechnya, Azerbaijani TV station ANS reports.
According to the criminal charges brought against a group of young Azeris, they intended to fight together with Chechen armed groups based in Pankisi, mountainous region of Georgia bordering Chechnya.
Georgian officials strictly deny existence of drilling camps for Chechen fighters in Pankisi.
