Shevardnadze at the CIS Summit

(Tbilisi, February 28, Civil Georgia) – Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze arrives in Almaty, Kazakhstan on February 28 to participate in the summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States on March 1-2.

The meeting with the Russian President Vladimer Putin is planned. The meeting is extremely important in regard with the situation in Pankisi gorge and the US intention to assist Georgian army to combat terrorism.

Meetings with other leaders of the CIS member states are planned as well.
