Russia Concerned With US Plans in Georgia – Russian Defense Minister

(Tbilisi, March 11, Civil Georgia) – “US military deployment in Georgia is of concern to Russia,” Sergei Ivanov, Russian Defense Minister stated on March 11, Russian news agency Interfax reports.

“At the moment we know that up to 200 US soldiers are to arrive in Georgia. Decision on deployment of additional forces in Georgia will be taken later,” Ivanov stated before visiting the USA today.

US military experts are to arrive in Georgia in late March to train four batallions of the Georgian Defense Ministry in antiterrorist activity.
