Kidnapped Released in Pankisi
(Tbilisi, March 15, Civil Georgia) – Georgian citizen, ethnic Azerbaijani Aziz Khalilov was released on March 15 from Pankisi gorge, Georgian Interior Ministry reports.
Law enforcers do not reveal details of the case. Interior Ministry Spokesman Paata Gomelauri stated that no ransom was paid for the hostage’s release.
Aziz Khalilov was abducted last October and detained in Pankisi gorge. Kidnappers abducted his son at first. Aziz Khalilov agreed to become hostage in stand of his son.
At least one person, monk Basil Machitadze remains detained in Pankisi gorge by the criminals at the moment.
