MoD Unable to Use US Military Assistance Because of Unpaid Customs-Tariff
(Tbilisi, November 15, Civil Georgia) – Georgian Ministry of Defense (MoD) urges the Parliament for beneficial customs-tariffs for the imported and granted military equipment.
Defense Minister Davit Tevzadze stated at the Military Council of the MoD on November 14 that the ministry could not use the spare parts for the military equipment granted to the Georgian MoD by the United States because of unpaid customs-tariff.
Davit Tevzadze requested the Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze, which attended the meeting of the Military Council to discuss the issue in the Parliament.
The main issue discussed at the Military Council was the lack of financing of the armed forces.
