City Council Increases Pensions for Tbilisi Residents

(Tbilisi. March 14, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Tbilisi city council ? Sakrebulo adopted a budget of the capital city today, considering a 3 Lari (USD 1.4) increase in pensions for residents of Tbilisi.

On March 11 Labor, Health, and Social Welfare Minister Amiran Gamkrelidze said that the it would be impossible to finance from the United Pension Fund increased pensions, as demanded by Sakrebulo Chairman and opposition National Movement leader Mikheil Saakashvili.
