Government Fails to Meet First Quarter Budget Targets
(Tbilisi. April 3, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Georgian Treasury Department reported today that the budgetary shortfall in the first quarter of 2003 consists 18 million Lari [approximately USD 8,5 million].
However, Budgetary Office of the Parliament claims that the shortfall is 22 million Lari.
“At the government’s meeting yesterday the Finance Minister and the President claimed that the government met its budgetary targets, but now we see that the shortfall consists 22 million,” Roman Gotsiridze, Head of the Budgetary Office says.
