BP Executive Director Inspects Construction, Consults President
(Tbilisi, May 28 2003, Civil Georgia) British Petroleum Executive Director John Browne arrived to Tbilisi on May 27 to inspect the constuction of the pipeline and meet with the Georgian president Eduard Shevardnadze.
John Browne surveyed the route of the prospective Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil Pipeline.
The BP Leader said the company is actively involved in the project implementation and pays major importance to the realization of long-term employment and aid programs.
Following the inspection, Browne met the Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze. This was one meeting in series of meetings with the leaders of the countries along the BTC route that BP CEO is undertaking.
On May 28 Browne will arrive to Turkey.
