Chief of Turkish Gendarmerie Visits Tbilisi

(Tbilisi, June 4 2003, Civil Georgia) – The delegation of the Turkish Gendarmerie led by Commander-in-Chief Şener Eruygur arrived in Georgia today for two-day official visit.

?The visit aims to boost our links with the Turkish Gendarmerie and foster further cooperation, as well as to discuss the issues of possible cooperation with the relevant departments of European countries. We are implementing all the reforms gradually, therefore the cooperation is unavoidable,? Chief of the Georgian Internal Troops Gia Shervashidze told Civil Georgia.

During the visit Turkish delegation will hold meetings in Georgian Interior and Defense Ministries.
