Shevardnadze Reaffirms Commitment to Solve Conflicts Peacefully

(Tbilisi, July 1, 2003, Civil Georgia) – ?While I am President I will not permit the use of force against Abkhazians and Ossetians,? Georgian President Shevardnadze said at the congress of the IDPs from South Ossetia, which established a pro-Presidential movement today.

Shevardnadze criticized head of the Abkhaz government-in-exile Tamaz Nadareishvili, who supports use of force to restore Georgia?s territorial integrity.
