Court Acquitted Chechen Militant Suspect
Chechen Khamzat Isaev was acquitted by the court today of illegal crossing Georgian-Russian border and carrying weapons charges.
?The court considered all these accusations as groundless and released Isaev,? Isaev?s attorney Achiko Chopikashvili told Civil Georgia.
Khamzat Isaev was among 13 alleged militants detained by the Georgian border guards last August near the Georgian-Russian border.
Georgia extradited five of them to Russia last October in the wake of Russia’s demand, while the extradition of three Chechens was canceled by the Georgian court.
