PM Rules out Political Crisis

The authorities will not let anyone trigger crisis in the country, Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli told reporters on July 7 while commenting on recent developments.

The opposition warned of large-scale protest rallies against, what they call, ?government?s violence? and to demand resignation of Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili, whom the opposition accuses of covering up those former officials of the Interior Ministry who allegedly were behind the Sandro Girgvliani murder case.

PM Nogaideli also commented on a surprise statement by Eka Khoperia, a popular anchor of the Rustavi 2 TV?s political talk-show on July 6 and said that the authorities are not interfering in the independent television?s affairs.
