PACE President Visits Georgia

Rene van der Linden, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will visit Georgia on July 5-7.

Separatist conflicts will dominate his visit. On July 7, van der Linden will visit both the capital of breakaway South Ossetia, Tskhinvali, and Kurta, the headquarters of the Tbilisi-loyal South Ossetian provisional administration.

The PACE president’s visit is part of a wider regional tour, taking in all three South Caucasus countries.

Prior to his arrival on July 3, he said he hoped “to see how we can do more to solve the frozen conflicts in the countries concerned.”
