New Nominee for Education Minister
Bela Tsipuria, who had been nominated as Education Minister, has surprisingly withdrawn her nomination for as of yet unspecified reasons.
Maia Miminoshvili, head of the National Assessment and Examination Center of the Education Ministry, has been nominated in her place, Gia Khuroshvili, the government?s parliamentary secretary, said on November 21.
Tsipuria had served as deputy to Alexander Lomaia, the former education minister. As a result of the recent cabinet reshuffle, Lomaia was appointed by President Saakashvili as secretary of the National Security Council and Tsipuria was nominated to replace him.
