Geostat: 2.9% GDP Growth in H1’16
Georgia’s real GDP growth stood at 2.9% year-on-year in the first six months of 2016, higher than 2.6% in the same period of last year, according to preliminary data released by the state statistics office on Friday.
Economy grew 2.9% y/y in June, making second quarter growth 3.1%, after 2.6% growth in the first quarter of 2016.
Georgian government’s forecast for 2016 economic growth stands at 3%.
Georgia’s economy expanded by 2.8% in 2015, the weakest growth since 2009.
