CEC Releases Final Vote Tally of First Round of By-Elections
The Central Election Commission (CEC) released on May 27 the final vote tally of the first round of the MP by-elections in Mtatsminda constituency of Tbilisi.
According to the final vote tally, 15,022 out of 43,868 registered voters participated in the elections (34.2%). The election administration annulled 297 ballot papers.
20 candidates competed in the MP by-elections in Mtatsminda constituency of Tbilisi. Below are the results of the first round:
- Nita Sikharulidze β Christian Democratic Movement β 0.12% (17 votes);
- Giorgi Andriadze β Free Georgia β.0.79% (117 votes);
- Shalva Shavgulidze β European Georgia-Free Democrats β 36.84% (5,422 votes);
- Giorgi Liluashvili β Sakartvelo β 0.12% (18 votes);
- Giorgi Shalikashvili β Movement for Free Georgia β 0.07% (11 votes);
- Tebea Tengiani β New Christian Democrats β 0.03% (5 votes);
- Mamuka Tuskadze β Movement for Social Justice β 0.09% (13 votes);
- Valisa Ghvinjilia β Political Platform New Georgia β 0.04% (6 votes);
- Mikheil Saluashvili β Union Recovery Justice Voice of People: The Lord Our Righteousness β 0.10% (15 votes);
- Irma Razmadze β Tavisupleba β Zviad Gamsakhurdias Gza β 0.13 (19 votes);
- Jemal Nadareishvili β Political Movement of Armed Veterans and Patriots of Georgia β 0.12% (17 votes);
- Germane Sabo β Girchi β 4.76% (701 votes);
- Nodar Inaneishvili β National-Democratic Party (NDP) β 0.06% (6 votes);
- Vladimer Kakhadze β Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia β 41.01% (6,036 votes);
- Levan Ioseliani β Independent β 6.55% (964 voters);
- Koba Davitashvili β Independent – 2.91% (428 votes);
- Sophio Khorguani β Independent β 2.64% (388 votes);
- Grigol Gegelia β Independent β 3.14% (462 votes);
- Ioseb Koberidze β Independent 0.18% (26 votes);
- Tamar Alpaidze β Initiative Group β 0.31% (45 votes).
According to the Central Election Commission, two main contenders β Vladimer Kakhadze and Shalva Shavgulidze will face each other in the second round of elections on May 9. The parliamentary seat in Mtatsminda became vacant after Salome Zurabishvili, a majoritarian lawmaker, was elected as the President of Georgia.
