Q1’20 GDP Growth 1.5% in Georgia – Preliminary Data

Georgia’s real GDP grew by 1.5% year-on-year in the first three months of 2020, according to preliminary data released by the National Statistics Office (Geostat) on April 30.

The corresponding figure for March stood at -2.7%, according to the report, after 5.1% and 2.2% year-on-year growth in January and February, respectively.

According to the report, in March the decrease was registered in accommodation and food service activities; transportation and storage; arts, entertainment and recreation; financial and insurance activities; electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply; manufacturing; and real estate activities.
