Tskhinvali Leader Visits Moscow
Kremlin-backed Tskhinvali leader Alan Gagloev met with Kazbek Taysaev, a member of the Russian State Duma’s Communist Party faction, on August 4 during his visit to Moscow.
Per the Tskhinvali leader’s press service, the pair discussed bilateral relations with Gagloev emphasizing Russia’s role as both a strategic partner and “true fraternal country” for occupied Tskhinvali.
MP Taysaev meanwhile noted the importance of deepening cooperation between Russia and the Tskhinvali region with both parties agreeing to “continue active joint work” after the meeting.
Gagloev arrived in Moscow on August 1 and is also expected to meet with Dmitry Kozak, the Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration, to discuss Tskhinvali’s relationship with Moscow, including the prospects of increasing wages and pensions for “state employees” of Tskhinvali.
